| 4 dead, 32 injured, 12 airlifted to GMC hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 7:
Four persons killed on spot while thirty two sustained injuries when an ill fated vehicle in which they were travelling in turned turtle at Amar Cheshma, on Jammu-Sriangar National Highway, around 5 kilometres away from Patnitop here today.
According to police sources, the vehicle (a mini bus bearing registration number JK11-722) was on way from Rajouri to Kangan in Kashmir Valley when the incident took place.
Around fifty persons reportedly were travelling to attend Urs at the residence of Forest Minister Mian Altaf.
For the last two days around sixty vehicles carrying people from Rajouri were dispatched Srinagar to attend the said Urs, sources added.
On reaching, Amar Cheshma near Batote driver lost control over the vehicle and it struck with the rock and turned turtle. Over crowding could be the cause of the incident, sources said
In the incident four persons died on spot while thirty two others received injuries out of which twelve critically wounded were airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
The identification of the deceased has been established as Muneer Hussain son of Mohd Sadiq, Abdul Qayoom son of Nazir Ahmed, Munawar son of Changez Ahmed and Bashrat son of Mohd Bashir, all residents of Rajouri.
On receiving information of the accident, the security forces including Army, police and CRPF personnel along with locals launched rescue operation.
The injured were rushed to the Batote hospital where after administering first aid they were referred to the GMC&H for advance treatment. Among thirty two injured twelve persons whose condition was stated to be critical were airlifted to the GMC& H. The injured have been identified as Mohd Rayaz son of Mohd Sadiq,Khadam son of Said Mohd,Mohd Shoukat son of Mohd Bashir,Mohd Bashir son of Noor Mohd,Talib son of Aslam Din,Saaid Mohd son of Muneer,Muneer son of Aslam Din,Tanish son of Aslam Din,Hassan Mir wife of Ghulam Hassan,Altaf Mohd son of Daulat Khan,Raj Begum wife of Noor Hussain,Talib Hussain son of Mohd Munshi,Daulat Khan son of Mohd Khan,Takseena daughter of Mohd Rayaz,Alam Din son of Fatah Din,Kabir Mohd son of Mohd Azam,Mumtaz wife of Alam Din,Bashrat son of Mohd Razak all resident of Rajouri, Saleem Begum wife of Alam Din, Mubarak Hussain son of Shah Hussain,Tariq Hussain son of Nasir Ahmd, Aslam Din son of Fatah Mohd,Mohd Showkat son of Mohd Hussain,Sadiq Hussain son of Mohd Hussain,Navi Badshah son of Ghulam Badshah,Gulzar Begum wife of Bali Mohd and Bagh Khan son of Bali Mohd, all residents of Nowshera.
Meanwhile, another injured of yesterday’s Noswhera road mishap succumbed to injuries in GMC hospital. Identified as Meenu Chadda wife of Ranjit Chadda of Rehari was among the seven other injured persons who were admitted in the GMC hospital for treatment. The incident occurred on Monday , when a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK08A-5938 which was on its way to Poonch from Jammu collided with an Alto car (DLCAG-3966) coming from the opposite direction in Lamadi,Surankote . In the incident a 44 years old lady namely Kiran Suri wife of Rajnish Suri of Rehari died on spot while 6 years old Arif Gul succumbed to the injuries.
The treatment of seven others injured was on in GMC hospital.
