| Raghunath Temple attack case | | Court issues notice to all Investigating Officers for their explanation | |
Jammu, Nov 22 In a much publicized Fidayeen attack in the Raghunath Bazaar and Raghunath Temple on March 30, 2002 in which several innocents including two militants were killed and several others injured, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta today issued notice to all the Investigating Officers for submitting their explanations. Ashok Sharma Dy SP, who was present in the court, was supplied a copy of the judgment in the open Court sought time for filling explanation. Dy SP stated in the open Court that he has only investigated the case partly. There are other police officials who have investigated and finally produced the challan in the Court. Upon this Court directed Public Prosecutor Mr. EA Tak to assist the Court in finding the names of the officers who have investigated the case besides Mr. Ashok Sharma Dy SP. PP Mr. EA Tak after perusal of the challan disclosed that Mr. Abdul Razaq Khan DySP, Mr. Ravinder Kumar Chalotra DySP, Mr. Pritam Singh Jamwal DySP and Mr. Ajay Singh Jamwal Inspector have also investigated the case. Upon this Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr.Subhash Chander Gupta issued notice to all these police officials for submitting their explanation on the next date of hearing. JNF Court had discharged all the accused at the stage of framing charges and while announcing the judgment observed that sufficient material was found in the file and in the statements of police officials as well as from the case dairy April 14, 2002 about the arrest of Virinder Sharma and about his disclosure and recovery of huge quantity of arms and ammunitions made from him on such disclosure at his instant, but it is astonishing to find that Virinder Sharma had not at all been arrayed as accused in the present case and issued notice to Investigating Officer to show cause why he has not arrayed Virinder Sharma as one of the accused in the case
