‘Tree talk’ in Anantnag, Patnitop | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 8 (KNS): Popular environmental awareness programme ‘Tree Talk’ would be held at Government Degree College Anantnag and Tourist Hill Resort Patnitop on June 10 and June 11 respectively. In Anantnag, ‘Tree Talk’ will be focused on student community in addition to local experts and nature lovers. It will start inside College campus at 9:30 and will culminate at 11:30 am. At Patnitop, ‘Tree Talk’ will be focused on Indian Forest Service officers of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy who are visiting state this week. Young participants under the aegis of Youth Hostels Association of India, J&K State Branch are also expected to participate at Patnitop in the proposed ‘Tree Talk.’ ‘Tree Talks’ have motivated NGO’s, NSS volunteers, students , YHAI volunteers, eco-tourists and members of civil society to undertake afforestation on war-footing, discourage use of polythene, adoption of greener lifestyles, revival of local health traditions and popularize organic farming and use of energy efficient devices.
