| The Ramlila ground incident at Delhi in the midnight of 4-5th June 2011 is truly condemnable .Every peace loving citizen of this country has taken serious note of this incident . Perhaps the saint turned Satyagrahi leader Baba Ram dev too himself had not ever thought in his wildest dreams about the fate ,he will meet with after gaining so much mass popularity in his life. It is undeniably very shocking and perhaps it may take another hundred years for the Baba to overcome this grief . Wounds may fill with the passage of the time but the reminiscences will keep on torturing his soul till his last breathe. The million dollar question that might be haunting Baba Ram dev will be to introspect his own decision, planning ,action and finally execution .Where Baba faltered to meet such a tragic end to a very good beginning would definitely be shaking his sound sleep to know the answers .But alas ,what has happened now cannot be undone ? Will ever he be able to regain the pristine glory lost in this uneventful happening? Apart should it be termed a setback to the common masses who want to see and live in a corrupt free state and country ? Now, Who will hold baton to bear the brunt of the corrupt and crooked persons wielding the muscle power ?
The Delhi drama begins with the reception of the Swami Ram dev by four Union ministers led by Pranab Mukerjee at the Delhi airport to discuss issue with him on the eradication of corruption and the black money on the 1st June 2011. Baba states candidly that time for the parleys has gone over so there is almost no chance of rebuttal to his decision of holding fast unto death until his demands are met .The main opposition parties took serious note of this thing and made a strong dig at the meek surrender of the government before the Baba who had hardly begun his movement. On this ,different statements kept on pouring from the government side and Pranab Mukerjee in order to save his own skin, in the end fixed the action ,taken at the behest of P M Manmohan Singh .In fact ,sensing the scenario of a sensitive area like Delhi and the apprehension of any unforeseen anti national ,anti social act might not happen ,the endeavour made was quite justified to settle the issue at the beginning .Despite the deadlock not broken between two parties ,the back door channel- parleys kept on taking place during next two days but on the 4thJjune 2011 ,Baba Ram dev finally began his movement by holding indefinite fast in a very festive mood. Apart from the yogic exercises, national songs were sung and speeches were delivered to captivate the attention of more than 60,000 people. Media reporting added to the colour .
In the meantime ,a joint sitting took place in the hotel between the Government emissaries and Baba himself along with his lieutenants. What conspired between the two is really unbelievable .Especially under what circumstances, such decisions were taken is far from reality to digest. It is because, when the government shows a declaration letter from the Ram dev’s camp about calling of the indefinite fast , Ram dev reacted calling it to be betrayal of the consensus and grows adamant to not break the fast and call of, the ongoing peaceful satyagraha movement launched by him. One can infer two things easily from such resolute stand of Baba that either he was forced to enter into joint consensus under the threat perception to his life and he turned hostile after his exit from their clutches or the Baba ,found himself helpless before his selfish motives by seeing the huge backing of the masses on his return to the Ramlila ground . In fact, Baba miserably failed to gauge the mood of the government’s emissaries involved in the bilateral talks and never estimated about the reaction of government upon taking his tough postures. Later what happened has just now become a part of history to remind of that hateful night . Such an incident can only take place in India where once your stature is raised beyond recognised heights but later you are razed to such depths where only darkness prevails and one dies of the suffocation and for the want of water to quench one’s thirst. This is called politics but it is a cheap politics whereby you seize the democratic human rights to assemble, express one’s thoughts and fight for a common purpose .This reflects that party in power is inefficient to win over the confidence of the feelings of the common masses who wish to live with dignity and honour and detest corrupt practices and want equally to get rid of it by completely eradicating it from the soil of this nation. Right since Independence ,the present party who is holding the coalition regime have held the reigns of the nation for a fairly longer duration , has passed so many laws but all such provisions laid in the statute books to deal with the corruption could not deal with this malaise till date. Under such circumstances ,would it not a be foolhardy attempt to expect a fairer outcome this time again?
Venerable Baba Ramdev ji ,do not forget that you are dealing with those politicians who are not voted by the educated elite and they are not the true representatives of the true Indian masses. They have managed the power by the virtue of the money and muscle power .In fact ,if one go by their backgrounds, barring a few exceptions ,rest all hold criminal backgrounds with minor difference over their severity. So when the common interests of the thieves will be hurting and affecting, how can one expect, rather should expect something miraculous from their end. In a country where entire one session of the parliament can be put to stake over very trivial issue by such bunch of classless opportunists costing huge amount of loss to the national exchequer and they did not even express their regret for such incident ,in that country it would be unworthy to hope for the justice amounting to living in no less than in the fool’s paradise. Hence better to stay in Haridawar and practise yoga teachings to ameliorate the sufferings of the common masses .Rest leave this mission to be taken by someone like late sh. Bhagat Singh ,Raj Guru ,Sukhdev and Subash chander Bose etc. because iron cuts iron .Our present blend of politicians are very hard nut to crack .To them Gandhi giri appeals most in theory but not in practice .Rest thanks for igniting the spark ,masses will follow the flame now very soon to get rid of this social evil from the society and nation. |
