| Slathia reviews performance of SICOP | | Pr. District & Sessions Judge,s Office , | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, JUNE 8. A high level officers meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S.S. Slathia, to review the performance of SICOP during last fiscal and discuss implementation of plan outlay earmarked for current fiscal.
Commissioner/Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Umang Narula, Managing Director, SICOP, Mr. R. K. Razdan and officers of SICOP attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that the works being undertaken under development of Industrial Estates include upgradation of roads, drains in Industrial Estates Zainakote, Zakura, Gangyal, Udhampur and upgradation of roads and fencing of overhead water tank at Industries Estates Kathua.
The other works which are under execution include construction of new Raw Material Depot at Samba, Bandipora, connecting and computerization of Corporation offices, setting up of testing centre at Leh and upgradation and creation of weight bridge facilities at Zainakot and Bari- Brahamina.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister said the SICOP over a period of time has played a pivotal role in developing small scale sector in J&K State on sustained basis and has contributed significantly to promote and operate schemes as per the State policy for dispersal of the small scale industries in a manner conducive to the balanced development in all the regions of State.
Appreciating the services of officers of SICOP in earning name among Corporations, the Minister said that several initiatives of Government have been translated into action by encouraging small scale entrepreneurs in setting up their industrial units.
