PK rejects statements of Interlocutors
6/8/2011 11:42:34 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 8: Panun Kashmir (PK) has expressed concern over the developments over the last one month that has political overtones regarding the Kashmir issue.
Addressing the media on Wednesday president, Panun Kashmir, Ashwani Chrungoo rejected the recent maneuvers and statements of the Interlocutors on Kashmir undermining the defined political position in J&K state.
He said, “It has become a mockery now that people of all hues from all corners visiting Kashmir give their own prescriptions and have become self-proclaimed ‘experts and interlocutors’ on Kashmir. Foreign delegations and diplomats in their ‘summer sojourn’ have also made it their pastime to meet separatist elements in Kashmir and add more confusion to the already complex situation.”
Chrungoo added, “Panun Kashmir would reiterate that Kashmir is a politically settled issue and the only pending issue that needs settlement is the reclamation of the POK territory from the tentacles of Pakistan. In the light of the damning evidence given by David Headley, the process of engagement with Pakistan requires serious reconsideration. The community of Kashmiri Pandits stands committed to its demand for a separate Homeland in Kashmir as it remains the only viable option for the displaced community to resettle in their ancestral habitat”.
Meanwhile he pointed, “Panun Kashmir, in strongest words, deplore the human and fundamental rights violations committed against the non-violent and peaceful Satyagrahis at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. Panun Kashmir appeals to its cadres throughout the length and breadth of the country to extend their full support to the movement against corruption and join hands with the organizers. The brutal suppression of the anti-corruption movement by the government in New Delhi is condemnable”.
Among other present in the press conference included, M.L Raina, chairman, Political Affairs Committee and Virender Raina, national spokesperson.
