| NDS organizes programme on Dogri songs | | | Katra | Nov 22 Dogri songs programme was organized by Nami Dogri Sanstha-The Art Foundation, in collaboration with Govt. Girls High School, Katra to promote the Dogri Language and create awareness among the masses of the area about the sweetness of the language. Dogri songs programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister for Rural Development, S.S. Anand Lehar, who was special invitee and V.M. Raina, Chief Education Officer, Udhampur was Guest of Honour, where as Prof. Shiv Nirmohi presided over and Dogri Harish Kaila, President NDS-TAF shared the dias. A welcome song was presented by the students of the school and welcome address was presented by Harish Dubey, Headmaster, Govt. Girls High School, Katra. While speaking on the occasion Dubey stressed upon everyone to speak Mother tongue Dogri, which is the identity of Dogra’s. Jugal Sharma, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the role of Nami Dogri Sanstha-TAF for taking keen interest for the promotion of Dogri language, art & culture. He also appealed to the organizers to organize such programmes in all the other rural areas as well. He assured full support to the Nami Sanstha-TAF for organizing such programmes in future.
PG,,1 Div Com constitutes committee to check black-marketing, profiteering JAMMU, NOVEMBER 22 (INFO)-To take stock of supply and sale of essential commodities and review the mechanism for price fixation, a meeting of senior officers from various Departments and Associations was convened under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Pramod Jain here this morning. During the deliberations, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the availability of basic amenities in the market and also the rates at which these are being sold to the common man. On the occasion, a ten member General Committee was constituted with Retired Director Health Mr. J.K Sharma as its president to check the quality, quantity and rates of essential commodities and prevent adulteration, black marketing and profiteering. Regarding LPG, the officers expressed concern over its misuse in business establishments and vehicles. It was decided to launch a crackdown in various business establishments to avoid use of domestic cylinders in shops and also in vehicles. To avoid black-marketing of kerosene oil and ensure its availability to the consumers, Director CA&PD was asked to identify localities, particularly those where poor and weaker sections reside so that adequate K.oil tankers would go on daily basis and on spot distribution would be made to the retailers. The rate has been fixed at Rs 9.40 per litre. It was decided in the meeting that separated/skimmed milk will be sold only in the packed form and absolutely not in loose form. Referring to the black marketing and profiteering by commissioned agents, Mr Jain apprised that to prevent this all such agents would be provided licenses. The committee would prepare commodity wise viable price list wherein genuine prices would be fixed keeping in view the profit of retailers and dealers. It was informed that their profit would be appreciably reduced for the benefit of the common man. On maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around dhabas and restaurants, the Divisional Commissioner asked the representatives of dhabas and restaurants to strictly adhere to the safety. While reviewing the availability of other essential commodities in the market, Mr Jain directed the General Manager Food Corporation of India (FCI) to take immediate measures for providing adequate sugar to the common man. The officers and members of various associations apprised of the measures being taken by them to ensure quality eatables and proper basic amenities. It was apprised that Rs 7.5 lakh was realized as fine from the defaulters during several raids conducted by the squads. He asked the officers to maintain quality and rate lists display especially in respect of fruits and vegetables. He also impressed upon the common masses to cooperate with the administration to curb black marketing, profiteering and related problems. Among others, Director CA&PD, Assistant Drug Controller, Area Manager IOCL Jammu, Deputy Director Horticulture, Health Officer, President Retailer Federation, President Fruit Association Narwal, President Consumer Welfare Association, General Manager FCI, President Halvai Association, President Dhaba Union, Chairman Dhaba Union, Secretary Consumers Welfare Association, were also present on the occasion.
