Cultural Academy holds test for summer children workshops | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 9: For all round development of the children of the various age groups, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages today hold an aptitude test in various discipline ie., visual and performing arts here at K L Sehgal Hall. More than sixty children had taken their aptitude test and out of fifty were selected for the one month long summer children workshops to be commenced from June 13. Earlier, Savita Bakshi , Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in her welcome address extended her best wishes to the participating children. She said the aim of these workshops to sensitize them towards themselves and their surroundings through theatre activities in a play method besides to develop basic concept and training and methodology in theatre and dance. She said that experts and resource persons of the experience have been engaged to impart training to the children in all the three events including Painting, Dance and Theatre. This will enable them acquainted with elementary aspect of all disciplines through various method and techniques. She stressed upon the parents to ask the children to be remain presents during this one month in order to get full inputs from the resource persons Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Incharge Theatre workshop, while interacting with the parents and children said the major thrust of the plays to be prepared in this workshop is to create an atmosphere to encourage children, to raise questions, make decisions and choices with an awareness of themselves within larger society. |
