| Rs 8,100 fine imposed on unscrupulous shopkeepers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, June 10:
The Enforcement Wing of Department of Handicrafts has penalized 13 shopkeepers for violating Tourist Trade (TT) and Quality Control Act compounding a fine of Rs 8100.
The Squad of the Enforcement Wing imposed penalty to the shopkeepers for fake labeling, lake of registration and several other offences under the Act during its surprise checking of different shops at Dalgate, Kohnakhan, Bishamber Nagar and Boulevard areas.
Meanwhile, the erring handicrafts dealers have been cautioned to refrain from indulgence in malpractice. They have been warned of strict action which among other things will entail blacklisting.
