NCP demands establishment of Lok Ayukt in JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 10: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today demanded a special session of legislature to enact a law for establishing Lok Ayukt in the state to curb corruption. The NCP also demanded that all ministers including the Chief Minister and former legislators should be brought under its ambit. "Chief Minister, ministers, legislators, former ministers and bureaucrats should be brought under the jurisdiction of Lok Ayukt," NCP state chief Thakur Randhir Singh said here at a function to celebrate the 13th foundation day of the party. He said CM Omar Abdullah should declare all movable and immovable property owned by his immediate relatives and direct his ministers to do the same. "Details of property, bank balance, jewellery and entire income should be put on JK government website for public scrutiny," Singh said. He also demanded that the provision of constituency development funds available to legislator should be done away with as it is "neither contributing to the welfare of people nor strengthening the mechanism of honest dealing". |
