Punjab wrestler Gani lifts Rathian Kesari title

JAMMU, June 10: Wrestler Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab lifted the 5th Annual Rathian Kesari Vishal Dangal which was organized by Rathian young Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. The event was sponsored by Industrial Estate Association Udhampur.
For the Rathian title, Gani defeated Jogroup of Pakhoke wrestling club of Tarn-Taran in Punjab to received a cash award of Rs. 12,000.Rrunner-up, Jagroup was presented Rs. 9,000 by chief guest, MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
In all 56 bouts were played in this one day-long dangal between state wrestlers and those from Northern States.
The second main bout between Rehmat Ali of Malllerkotla and Her Nek Singh (Nike) Akhara Doom Charri of Gurdaspur ended in walkover resulting into both got Rs 7500 as cash prize. Third main bout went to Sagar of Sat Paul Akhara Delhi, who beat Gurvinder Singh of Akhara Garh Shanker again of Punjab. In 4th bout Sukha of Rajasthan (Rajasthan Kesari) emerged winner outlying Digvijay Patha
Members of organizing committee and those technical officals who helped in smooth conduct of dangal were Bhagwan Dass Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Arun Khajuria, Rakesh Sharma, Rama Kant, Sanjeet Singh, Vijay Kumar (All seven committee members contributed Rs. 10,000/- each as financial assistance) Capt. Lehar Singh, Capt. Kapoor Singh, Vijay Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Mohd. Fareed, Amar Singh, Durga Dass and Master Moona Khan.
Other Results:- Prladh Singh of Ramnagar beat Kaka of Jandrah, Arjun Singh of Samrole beat Deepu of Roun-Domail, Gopi Ram of Udhampur beat Ajit Singh of Ramnagar, Abudal Gani of Mallerkotla beat Ram Singh of Kalakot, Babu of Jandarh beat Manga of Kapoor Thala, Liaqat Ali of Panthal beat Billa of Jallander, Youns of Mallerkotla beat Mohinder of Kathua, Vijay of Udhampur beat Prem Verma of Jihri, Gopal Sharma of Jandarh beat Dippu of Delhi, Amir Khan of Jammu beat Hardip Rajasthan, Pankaj of Delhi beat Lalli of Garhshanker, Onkar of BSF beat Raju of Kapoorthala, Anuj of Delhi beat Sukha of Garhshanker, Anuj of Khanna beat Swar Din of Mallerkotla bouts between Ravinder of Jallendar V/s Bobri of Jammu, Inderjeet of Amritsar V/s Kallu of Jammu, Gurpal of Amritsar V/s Mantri of Delhi, Akram of Jammu V/s Munna of Amritsar and Teg Ali of Mallerkotla V/s Sadda of Amritsar ended in a draw.
