Sham lays foundation stone of tube well at Baruie, Akhnoor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 10: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma laid foundation stone of deepest tube well to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 95 lakh at Baruie, Akhnoor tehsil. Addressing a large gathering after laying foundation for the tube well, Sham said that on the commissioning of tube well, a population of 5000 souls of Baruie and 5 adjoining villages would be benefited. Minister asked the PHE department to lay drinking water supply pipes in the uncovered areas. He asked the people to use drinking water judiciously as due to global warming and continuous dry spell in the country, the water level is decreasing day-by-day. Minister said that it is earnest effort of the government to ensure improved essential services to the people of the state, for which, a number of innovative development programmes are being launched in every part of the state especially far off and rural pockets. He appealed the people to extend complete cooperation to the government agencies for better and effective implementation of development programmes. He asked the executing agency to complete the tube well within stipulated time frame and ensure quality material in the construction. Among others Chief Engineer, PHE B R Dogra, SDM Akhnoor and concerned senior engineers of departments were also present on the occasion.
