| Rs.6.80 lakh paid to accused for appointments in JKP | | | JAMMU NOv 22 Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan in case FIR NO 18/2004 u/s 420/120-B/RPC registered in Police station Crime Branch against three persons, including a widow, for cheating the complainant by Rs.6.80 by promising to get his two sons and one more person appointed as Sub Inspector in the Police Department. According to the reports Uttam Singh resident of Bhaderwah at present housing colony Udhampur lodged a complaint with the Crime Branch stating therein that Satpaul @ Vishal son of Amru Caste Mahasha resident of Majatta tehsil Ram Nagar, Smt Veena Singh widow of P D Singh resident of Gandharwan Tehsil Akhnoor and Rajnesh Kotwal @ Raju son of Maheshwar Nath of New Plot Tali More Jammu assured the complainant to get his three persons including his sons recruited as Sub-Inspector in Jammu Kashmir Police in consideration of Rs.6.80 lakh . After initiating preliminary enquiry into the matter a formal case was registered with the Crime Branch. Senior Superintendent of Police Crime and Railways Jammu said that the during investigation the team of officers of Crime Branch recorded statements of prosecution witnesses, collected evidence acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case. As per the statements of prosecution witnesses and evidence collected the above accused persons have cheated the complainant after taking an amount of Rs.6.80 lakh for providing appointment orders as Sub Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police to two of the sons of the complainant and to Vikas Kotwal son of Chuni Lal Kotwal resident of Ward NO 4 Udhampur .The accused have been challaned in the court of law for judicial determination, the SSP added.
