| Personality development camp concludes at GDC Udhampur | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 10: Department of Sociology, Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur organized a three day personality development camp started on June 8, 2011 concluded today with a valedictory function.
Principal of the College N.K. Resutra was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address he appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to organize such activities in future as well.
He also distributed prizes and certificates to the students.
Earlier the day began with students engaging in various activities like sharing games, mental alertness games, adjustments games etc. followed by Principal’s address.
On day one of the camp, Sudhir Singh delivered a lecture on communication skills. This was followed by a chart making competition in which group namely “The Intellectuals” made a chart on the topic “Poverty in India” and got 1st prize.
Shridhu and Pallavi were the adjudicators during chart making session. The day ended with a patriotic song “Hum Sab Bhartiya Hai”
On day two, the first activity was the group discussion. It was a very healthy session in which various topics were given to different groups and every student presented his views regarding the given topic.
After that the students went to Udhampur city for a field survey. In this activity they were given with the already prepared questionnaire.
Every group had to collect data from different type of people like one group talked to Auto rikshaw walas, other to showrooms owners etc. After collecting data they prepared a presentation and their reports regarding their field experience.
Romesh Attri, Ruby Mahajan, Santosh, Varun, Preeti, Neha, and Sonika were also present on the occasion. Shreeya Bakshi, Head Dept. of sociology conducted the proceedings and presented a formal vote of thanks.
