Transporters to observe Chakka Jam today | Ex-MLC's supporters protest his arrest | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 10: Alleging deep rooted conspiracy, the people in Gandhi Nagar area today staged a protest against the arrest of former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Trilochan Singh Wazir. Led by president Local Truck Union Association Manmohan Singh; the supporters of Wazir accompanied by his family members and relatives this morning assembled at the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s advisor Devender Rana’s residence and demanded release of TS Wazir. They alleged that he (ex-MLC) has been trapped under a well planned conspiracy and should immediately be released. The protesters raised slogans and demonstrated in front of Devender Rana’s residence The protesting people also threatened to gherao the Chief Minister, who was in the winter capital to address a gathering at R S Pura. It is to pertinent to mention here that the senior National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir and his brother Ajab Singh Wazir were arrested while their accomplice Raju Simblia was detained yesterday for their alleged involvement in much publicised Chopra Murder Case in which five people including three of a family and two domestic help were brutally murdered in September 2006. Meanwhile, the supporters of ex-MLC including the transporters have given a call for Chakka Jam tomorrow in support of his release. The decision to observe Chakka Jam was taken in meeting in a joint meting of different organisations including Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Sikh Students Federation, All J&K Sikh Intellectual Circle, Jammmu, Sikh Noujawan Sabha, Sikhs for Justice and all transport unions held at Gurdwara Chand Nagar.
