Sham inspects health stores at Health directorate | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 10: Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma today visited Directorate of Health, Jammu, and inspected various medicine stores of the department. Sham said that government is keen in promoting healthcare facilities in the state as major portion of patients is treated in government institutions. He said that various steps have been taken to upgrade the existing healthcare infrastructure in the state besides introducing latest equipments. He stressed for optimum use of available resources, adding that missionary zeal is must to improve the delivery system on ground in the medical profession. The Minister said that government is taking up necessary steps to provide adequate faculty and lower staff at various levels. He said the government has created so many posts of doctors and para-medicos to improve the healthcare facilities in the institutions during the past two years. He directed the Director Health to constitute a committee for appointment of lower staff. The Minister asked the Health administration to prepare computerized data of all the store items within next 15 days. He also stressed for early functioning of newly established cold stores which are presently not working. He asked the concerned officers to streamline the purchase system of medicine and ensure time bound supply of medicines in the division. He said two provisional stores each in Jammu and Srinagar will be established soon. Later, the Minister visited Birpur Industrial Estate, V K Chander Shekhar Walnut Processing and Export Unit. Sham said that Government would encourage local as well as outside investment in the establishment of various processing units including Walnut plants and other horticulture produce processing units.
