Proxy candidates undeterred, Police arrests one in Poonch appearing in 10th exam | | | Amit Sharma EARLY TIMES REPORT Poonch, June 10: Notwithstanding the fact that the crime of letting proxy candidate sit in the BDS Examination cost ministry of then Minister for Roads and Building Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, candidates are still feeling it a easy way to clinch success in the examinations even though it is crime punishable under law. A similar such incident has been reported from a Mendher school where a proxy candidate has been arrested by the police who was sitting in the examination hall writing English paper on behalf of another candidate. Station House Officer of Mendher Police Station said that on the basis of complaint registered by an Examination Superintendent, they have booked a candidate namely Mohammad Iftikhar who was appearing in the 10th class private examination on behalf of a candidate Zubair Ahmed. SHO said that they have lodged an FIR in the Police Station Mendher and arrested one among the two culprits. He said that another candidates have gone absconding and Police has launched search operation for him. "We have lodged an FIR no 77 of 2011 under section 419 and 420 against the both candidates and we are investigating the deal between the two. As per police, the candidate had just to finish his work in the examination hall in Chatral School of Mendher when Examination Staff caught him and after ascertaining his identity snatched answer sheet from him. Police said that following the incident, Superintendent approached police who arrested Mohammad Iftikhar. It is pertinent to mention here that such type of cases are being reported for the last many years, yet no concrete step is being taken to check proxy candidates being used in examinations to clinch success. |
