Having cried hoarse for no role in Chopra family murder, Wazir remanded to police custody | 1 SP, 2 DSPs, 1 Inspector likely to be questioned in the case | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: Having cried hoarse for his "no" role in the September 2006 sensational Chopra family murder, NC leader and ex-MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir alias Tallo was now cooling his feet in the police lockup. Arrested yesterday in the case, he was today remanded by special municipal magistrate to five days police custody for his detailed interrogation.On the disclosure of Surinder Singh alias Kala transporter, a witness and their former business associate, Tallo and his brother Ajab Singh were arrested by police from their Green-Belt Park residence yesterday. In his statement made before the court yesterday under section 164-A of RPC, the former MLC and Ajab were alleged to have conspired to kill cement tycoon R B Chopra, wife Madhu, daughter Saloni, driver Jagan and servant Sonu over a business rivalry.The duo were today produced in proper security before the court which sent them to five days police remand. However, when Tallo submitted that he was not feeling well, the court directed IO to get him examined by some specialist doctor. He was later lodged along with his brother in the Trikuta Nagar police station. Police sources said their interrogation was on to find out the motive behind the five brutal murders.Meanwhile, one SP, two DSPs, one of whom dealt in real estate too, and an Inspector, who at present was posted somewhere in Udhampur district, were also likely to be picked for questioning. It was alleged that they were in knowhow of all the details related to the case but they failed to discharge their duty. Sources alleged that a select group of cops helped to shield the accused and took the case to wrong side during investigation. |
