300 ex-servicemen, veer naris take part in rally | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Jun 11 : More than 300 ex-servicemen and Veer Naris attended a rally organised jointly by Army and civil administration at Teetwal, a border town surrounded by Pakistan soldiers. A defence ministry spokesman said here today that the Army in its tradition of taking care of its veterans organised a rally in Teetwal, a town near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir.
He said the Tangdhar bowl which as a considerable strength of ex-servicemen was benefited most from the rally, attended by more than 300 ex-servicemen and Veer Naris.
Based on the previous interactions, the expertise of civilian and military agencies were incorporated to solve their problems. These agencies included different government departments like Horticulture, Fishery, Agriculture and Banks. Zonal Sainik Welfare Officer explained opportunities/ schemes commissioned by the state government specially for the ex-servicemen.
The JAK LI Records Officer explained to them the newly introduced ''One Rank One Pension'' scheme.
Large number of ex-servicemen utilised the facilities of medical and dental check up and CSD canteen which was also organised on the occasion. The Commander of the local Army formation who was present on the occasion, interacted with ex-servicemen and also felicitated the Veer Naries, by presenting them gifts, he said.
