| 1993 helicopter crash | | Six senior service officers remembered | |
POONCH Nov 22 A soulful program was organized by 10 SIKH LI under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade as a remembrance of six senior service officers who were killed on this date in 1993 in a helicopter crash. The day also coincides with the 58th anniversary of liberation of Poonch.
Brigadier Gurdeep Singh Commander 10 Infantry Brigade, M R Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, S D Jamwal Senior Superintendent of Police and a large number of civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen and war widows laid wreath at the memorial over looking River Poonch.
On this occasion the local Army Unit presented shawls among the war widows and ex-servicemen.
