High airfares dismay Aiyer | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 11 (KNS): Former Union Minister Panchayati Raj and MP Rajya Sabha, Mani Shanker Aiyer, Saturday, expressed anger over high air fare to Kashmir these days. “I was surprised to see the airfare from Delhi to Srinagar has sky rocketed. Similar is the case of airfare from other destinations to Kashmir. This will impact tourism industry here,” Aiyer told KNS on the sidelines of a function here. Stating that he will take up this issue in Parliament, Aiyer said, “Srinagar airport should remain functional for 24 hours and frequency of flights should be increased that would give boom to tourism industry. If such high air fare continues tourists will not prefer to come here,” he added.
