| Better roads, civic amenities in hilly area forms govt priority : Sham Lal | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
AKHNOOR, JUNE 11-Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today laid foundation stone of ISM Centre (Unani and Ayurvedic) dispensary estimated to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 65.14 lakh at Aghar Majoor (Chung) of tehsil Akhnoor.
Addressing large gathering, Sham said that the Ayurvedi Unani, ISM Centres would be completed within stipulated time period in 6363 sft area with all latest technology like Ayurvedic with form of Kshar Sutra for piles, fistula and panch karma for arthritis.
The Minister said that every religion teaches us lesson of human service and a doctor particularly has to be more noble and humble towards the patients and ailing humanity. He said that medical fraternity in comparison to other professions bears more responsibility to deal with very sensitive issue like health and hygiene of human beings.
Mr Sham said that large number of people are switching over to traditional treatment and opting for ayurvedic, unani system. During past some years there a substantial growth in the number of people coming forward for upgradation in the ayurvedic system.
He informed that the government has planned to sponsor the ISM centre through NABARD. By the construct ISM at Aghar Majoor the village surrounded like Budh chaire, Kenadi, Sanody, Chung and Sandal having a population of about 10000 souls shall be benefited.
Earlier, the Minister also addressed the public darbar at Kanehri and said that centre and state government are focusing on linking all the far-flung and hilly areas of the state with nearest urban centres, besides upgrading the basic amenities at par with the cities to improve the socio-economic condition of these areas.
He said that in the 3-tire panchayat system the Vice Chairman of District Development Board will be elected representative from the panchayats. This will enable the panchayats to be an important part in decision making at the district level as well as monitoring mechanism would get further strengthened and chances of corruption reduced, he added and said that election of women sarpanchs and panches is yet another significant aspect of panchayats election to help give specialized attention to women problem at panchayat level.
