2 tourists rescued from river | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 11: Risking his life, a head constable of Jammu and Kashmir police saved two tourists from Rajasthan from drowning in the Sindh river in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said here today. They said Sant Kumar, son of Hari Kumar, and Vishna Kumar, son of Kailash Kumar, residents of Janipora, Rajasthan had gone to bring some water from the river at Gagangir when they suddenly slipped and fell into the waters. Head Constable Nazir Ahmad, the police beat in charge at Kangan, jumped into the river, without caring for his own life, and rescued both the tourists. The constable received some injuries, they said, adding both the tourists were admitted to hospital in Srinagar. |
