CCLA demands regularization and hike in basic salary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 12: College Contractual lecturers have condemned the higher education department over keeping mum over regularization of contractual lecturers. Suresh Sadotra President JK CCLA criticized the Higher education department for maintaining the silence over the issue of regularization of contractual lecturers working in colleges even after making the announcement in the last assembly session. He said that the department is not keeping its promise of paying Basic salary of the grade i.e. Rs. 21600/- even when few working on same arrangement are being provided the same. He demanded a policy for the regularization of lecturers/ teaching assistants working on academic arrangement in colleges on the patterns of contractual employees working in different departments of Jammu and Kashmir government. He pointed, “The Higher Education department in 2003 regularised number of lecturers in volleges on selective basis. Even today Higher Education Department is paying full salary i.e. at par with regular employee to 14 Lecturers appointed on same arrangement and The case of one such Lecturer has been forwarded to GAD for regularization. The matter has already brought to the notice of Minister for Higher Education but nothing has been done so far”. Sadotra further raised the demands of College Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants including hike in basic salary to contractual lecturer and teaching assistants. Providing special incentives for the Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching working in remote areas. Permission to all Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants to pursue Ph.D and M. Phil part time. Also demanded for ivolving Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants in decision making process which is one of the requirements of NAAC. Those who were present in meeting included Suresh Sharma, Arun Sharma, Santosh, Shevata Magotra, Jyoti Sadotra, Supreme Singh, Anu Chadha, Rohit Gupta, Vinod, Nirmal Singh, Kulveer Singh, Amit, Gurcharan Singh, Lata Sharma, Nazam Bhatt, Reyaz and Sandeep Sharma.
