Army vehicle hits load carrier; injures 2 | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 12: A speeding Army vehicle hit a load carrier near Awantipora on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Sunday evening injuring two persons. Reports said State Road Transport Corporation Bus (JK02/0421) on duty with Army hit a load carrier near Awantipora injuring a lady and the driver of the load carrier. An eyewitness told KNS over phone that the Army vehicle didn’t stop after hitting the load carrier. “The Army left the spot leaving injured in pool of blood. They didn’t bother to stop and see what happened to the injured,” he said. Sources told KNS the vehicle was part of Army convoy which stopped at Transit 216 in Badamibagh Cantonment after committing the crime. Meanwhile, one para-military CRPF personnel died while two others were injured in a road accident in Awantipora. Reports said a CRPF Bus (HR-55G/1487) on way from Jammu to Pulwama collided with a truck (JK028C/4499) at Sambora near Petrol Pump, Awantipora, injuring three CRPF personnel. They have been identified as Vidi Karpal of 182 Bn. CRPF, Sardeep Singh and Ragveer Singh of 183 Bn. The injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment, where Ragveer Singh succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
