| Mir demands compensation to farmers | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jun 12: Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Sunday, expressed deep concern over the damage to crops and fruits caused by hailstorm in various parts of the Valley.
In a statement PDP District President Srinagar and MLC, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, said recent hailstorm has done severe damage to the crops and fruits like cherry in particular resulting huge loss to the farmers and growers.
He said hailstorm damaged fruit and crops in rural areas like Dara, Saidapora, Chaterhama and Khimber of Sonwar constituency.Mir stressed for immediate assessment of loss and adequate compensation to the effected farmers and growers.
