| Summer coaching camp for children organized | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 12: Summer Coaching camp for the children below 15 years was conducted in Air Force Station Jammu from 29 May to 11 Jun 2011.
This is an event which is conducted every year at swimming pool complex of Air Force Station Jammu.
This camp was meant for appraising children with basics of swimming with youngest participant being 4 years old.
Total of 47 children took part in the camp, out of which 39 were from defence families and eight children from Air Force School.
During the camp children were trained by qualified trainees, who train command team from the western Air Command, IAF. They were not only taught the practical by the coach, but also shown the videos to understand the basic technique.
Children were taught different type of strokes namely free style, back strokes, butterfly stroke etc.
They were also taught how to save life of drowning person in water and jumps from various heights to shed their fear. To make it fun while learning small get together with parents were also organized during the camp in which they shown their skills other than swimming like singing and dancing. |
