| Ultras killed 745 civilians in Rajouri, only 300 received relief: Report | | After 21 years of militancy | | Amit Sharma RAJOURI, June 12: 745 civilian of Rajouri district have been killed by the ultras since 1990 in Rajouri district and of them, justice has been delivered in 300 cases. These details have been revealed by a report of former governor of Himachal Pradesh V.S.Kokjee who reportedly submitted the same to a commission constituted by a non-governmental organization “Justice on Trial”. Commission has observed that 745 civilians have been killed by the ultras since 1990 in Rajouri District of J&K State. It has added that justice has been delivered to only 300 people and remaining are still wandering in the relief offices for relief and appointments under SRO-43. Sources said that former Governor had visited Rajouri along with his team to ascertain loss of civilian lives in Rajouri district in militancy. In his report, sources said that the former governor has accused the state government of discriminating with the militancy victims of Rajouri and Poonch. Justice on Trials, an NGO working in various Indian states had constituted a special commission under the supervision of VS Kokjee to investigate the cases of militancy victims. After assuming the charge, sources said that Kokjee along with Surpreet Kour Gariwal, a renowned social activists of India and Dr Yougesh Patil, Psychiatric had visited Rajouri in recent times to investigate these cases and after completing the job, sources said that he has submitted his report to the NGO. The report according to sources said that in Rajouri, among 745 civilian victims of militancy, 70 percent belongs to Muslim community while 20 percent of them belong to Hindu community and remaining are from other communities. Report also said that administration may not have provided the government the real picture and it is why maximum people have been denied justice. It added that only 300 people have been adjusted through SRO-43 scheme in the government services and remaining are still waiting. It is expected that report will be submitted to President of India and Prime Minister of India. It is pertinent to mention here that the same NGO is working on Nandigram, Singur and Assam conflicts and after submitting their reports to government, justice is being delivered to these people.
