Kabir not a saint in fact, a mine producing saints
Sadguru Madhu Param Hans ji Maharaj6/13/2011 9:01:36 PM
There are many misconceptions in the minds of people regarding Kabir Sahib. But these misconceptions have been created by the hypocrites with the sole purpose of defaming him. At some places they have described him as the off spring of Neeru-Neema while at other places they have described Kamal & Kamali as his children. They have also described him as a Muslim and a low caste fellow so as to prevent the people from following to him. Sahib Kabir has clearly said in his sayings-
Santo avigat se chala aya, koyi bhaid maram na paya.
Na hum rahle garbh vas mein, balak hoyi dikhlaya.
None has been able to know the secret related to me. Without remaining in the womb of the mother, I appeared as a child.
Na hamre maat pita hain, na sung girhi dassi.
Neither I have mother & father nor I have any wife.He said the he had come to the universe to free the jives from the bondage of Kaal.
His appearance in the universe was also very miraculous. He appeared in the middle of a pond from the sky. At that time Ashtha Nand ji, the disciple of Rama Nandji was engrossed in meditation on the bank of the Lahar Tara Pond. He opened his eyes & was startled to see the white dazzling & rare light assuming the appearance of a child. He went hurriedly to Rama Nand ji & narrated the whole happening to him. Rama Nandji told him that in the time to come the world will come to know of his greatness.
By chance, Neeru, after his first visit to his in-laws house, happened to pass that way alongwith Neema. The latter felt thirsty & went to the pond to quench her thirst. There she saw an infant moving its hands & feet on a lotus leaf. She was attracted by the beauty of the child. She picked it up & told Neeur that she won’t leave it. Neeru told her to leave the child there as the people would remark that they had a child even before their marriage. But Neema didn’t agree to it. At this, he began to thrash her. Neema was forced to leave it but the child (Sahib Kabir) said that he had appeared before them out of previous birth’s love for them. He told them to take him with them saying he would show them the path of salvation. Hearing this, they brought the child happily to their home.Reaching home, Neeru told everyone how they had found the child. But the mentality of the worldly people has always been evil. They began to make a fun of them. The people asked them to give a name to the child. Both-the Pandit as well as the Qazi had to be called because none knew whether the child was a Hindu or a Muslim.
First, the Pandit was called. Before he could say something about his name, the child said that there was no need to do so as his name was Kabir. All were startled at this. Some remarked that the child appeared to be a fellow with miraculous powers while others remarked that he appeared to be an incarnation of God.
Then the Qazi was called. When the Qazi opened the Quran, he found Kabir, Akbar, Kubra & Kabriya written on every page. He thought that it was the name of God. Giving this name to the child would be a cause of danger to their religion. He told Neeru that the child was a Kafir & asked him to take him inside & kill him. Neeru took the child inside & began to kill him with a dagger. It had no effect on the child. Then Sahib kabir told him that he had no body & that neither he took birth nor he suffered death. Neeru was afraid on hearing it. Finally, the child had to be called by the name of Kabir. Kabir means having no physical body. From the very childhood, Sahib Kabir began to give the people the message of truth. Then one fellow remarked that one couldn’t have divine knowledge without seeking the shelter of a guru. Sahib Kabir decided to seek the shelter of a guru. At that time Swami Rama Nand ji was considered as the greatest guru but he didn’t bless the low castes with Nam. In the eyes of others, Sahib Kabir was a weaver. But he decided to seek the shelter of Rama Nandji thereby putting an end to the distinction between the high & the low.
Rama Nand ji used to visit the Ganga Ghat for a bath early in the morning. Sahib Kabir assumed the appearanceof small child & lay on the steps of the ghat. While passing from there, Rama Nandji’s foot struck against sahib Kabir. The latter began to weep. Rama Nandji bowed & asked the child not to weep & say Ram-Ram instead. During this act, the necklace of Swamiji fell into the neck of Sahib Kabir.
Sahib Kabir turned his appearance like that of a Vaishnav & began to recite Ram-Ram. Seeing a change in Sahib Kabir, the people asked him what the matter was. He replied that he had got blessed with Nam from Rama Nandji. When the Pandits came to know of it, they enquired from Swamiji whether he had blessed Sahib Kabir with Nam. Swamjiji replied in negative. He sent for Kabir Sahib & asked him when he had blessed him with Nam. Sahib Kabir narrated all that had happened near the Ghat. But Rama Nandji said that that was a very small child. Sahib Kabir again assumed the appearance of that very child. Rama Nandji understood that Sahib Kabir was not an ordinary human being & accepted him as his disciple.Sikander Lodhi had been suffering from an acute burning sensation. All sorts of treatments had failed to give him any relief. While in Kashi, he asked the people if there was someone who could give him relief from the burning sensation. The hypocrites-both Hindus as well as Musalmans-thought that the king should be sent to Kabir who would speak irrelevant things & the king in anger would sever his head. Then Sikander Lodhi sent for Sahib Kabir. On seing the very vision of Sahib Kabir the problem of Sikander Lodhi was over. He became a devotee of Sahib Kabir. But Sheikh Takki, the peer of Sikander Lodhi felt envied. He made 52 attempts to kill Sahib Kabir but every time he had to eat a humble pie.The hypocrites told Takki that he had no faith in God & termed their acts of sacrifice, yajyas etc. as acts of hypocrisy. Moreover, the people of Kashi showed great respect to him & none cared for them.Takki went straightway to the king & instigated him to get Sahib Kabir killed as he was not a believer. He also told him that he would hurl a curse on him if he didn’t do so.Sikander Lodhi asked him why he was saying so when he himself had said that the peers &Faquirs were like God Himself & killing them was nothing but an act of sin. But Takki didn’t agree to it. Then the king told him to do what he liked & said that he himself won’t do any such act as it was he who had relieved him of his pain.
Takki made many plans to eliminate Sahib Kabir. On one occasion he was tied in chains & thrown into the strong flowing currents of river Ganges. On another occasion he was put in a big Deg & put on fire. Still on another occasion he was tied & thrown into a deep well that was then closed with mud, bricks etc. On all these occasions, he escaped miraculously. In furiated at his failure, he attacked Sahib Kabir with sword but, strange to say, nothing happened to him. There is need to ponder as to what fault he had committed for which he was given so much tortures. At present, about present cross of people are following the philosophy of Sahib Kabir & has sayings are being broadcast from the temples as well as the Gurudwaras. No doubt, this world worships the dead & never shows any respect to them during their life time. The hypocrites like Takki whose self interests are hit hard, oppose tooth & nail every noble & great man who dares to bring reforms in the social & religious field.
Once the king alongwith Takki was going with Sahib Kabir. There they saw some people carrying a dead body of a boy for the purpose of throwing it in the river Ganges. Takki asked Shaib Kabir to bring that boy back to life. Sahib Kabir asked the dead body to stand up by the miracle of God. The boy at once got up. Seeing this, Takki said that it was really a wonder. Hence after, that boy was named as Kamal.Takki’s daughter had died a few days back. He requested Sahib Kabir to bring her as well back to life. Sahib Kabir alongwith King & Takki reached the place where the girl had been buried. He said twice, “Get up, the daughter of Takki.” The girl didn’t get up. Then he said, “Get up, Kabir’s daughter.” She got up at once. Takki was overjoyed to see all this & spoke, ‘O my daughter!’. The girl said the she had now become the daughter of Kabir Sahib. She was named as Kamali.Everyone takes Kamal & Kamali as Sahib Kabir’s children but none knows the truth behind it.Whenever someone asked Sahib Kabir about his marriage he always replied that he had been married to Loyi (meaning worship & devotion). Otherwise, he had no wife. Almost all the saints that appeared after Sahib Kabir remained unmarried. Those who got married, deserted their homes & became Sanyasis after attaining the spiritual knowledge. When they remained unmarried, how could Sahib Kabir, the founder of Sant Matt, be expected to marry. He didn’t fall a prey to Maya.
In order to show to the people his real identity, he performed a miracle at the time of his departure. The people believed that a fellow who died at Kashi, attained salvation where as he who died at Magghar, attained the yuni of a donkey. To put an end to this superstition, Sahib Kabir left Kashi for Magghar.
Lakhs of people assembled at the place from where Sahib Kabir had to go to his Loka. Bir Singh Baghel, the king of Kashi & Bijli Khan pathan, the Nawab of Avadth who were also the disciples of Sahib Kabir, reached there. Each of them wanted to take the dead body of Sahib Kabir for the performance of last rites as per his own religion. When the matter couldn’t be solved in a peaceful manner, they took out their swords. It was decided that the winner would have the right to take possession of the dead body. At that time, Sahib Kabir performed a miracle. There appeared a dazzling light in the sky. Then there was a word which said-
Utha parda, nehin hai murda, ey re moorakh nadana, tum ne hum ko nehin pahchana.
Lift the sheet. There is no dead body underneath. O fools! you failed to recognize me.
When the sheet was removed, there were only lotus flowers to be seen there. Those flowers had been offered by the people. But the hypocrites hid this fact as well.
He was not a saint. He was, in fact, a mine producing saints – the Sat Purush Himself.
