BSP demands Jammu-Chandigarh direct train service | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jun 13: Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today demanded that a direct train service should be started between Jammu and Chandigarh.
"Most of the offices here have got their branches at Chandigarh and there is an immediate need for starting a direct rail link between the two cities," BSP's state general secretary Rakesh Wazir said.
"Considerable number of people also visit Chandigarh for availing medical services and thus a direct train service between the two destinations is very important," he said. "Such a train service will be viable proposition for railways and should be started immediately," Wazir said. He asked the Union Railway Ministry to personally intervene into the matter and try to start the train service at the earliest.
