| Softball championship concludes at Udhampur | | BRB lifts girls trophy, K.V.NO. 1 Boys | |
JAMMU, NOV 23
As many as 9 teams both boys and girls of the District Udhampur who had participated in Softball District Championship held at Udhampur concluded today. Councilor Municipality and District President Pradesh Congress Committee Udhampur Mr. Brij Mohan Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
In boys section K. V. No. 1 lifted championship by defeating Braham Reshi Babraw (BRB) School 18-7 Home runs while in girls section BRB School bagged the championship by defeating Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur by 11-1 Home runs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Brij Sharma advised the participants that it is the need of the time that young generation must take effective part in games and activities by way of utilizing their leisure, so that hidden talent would come out in the state and in turn country is also to establish a remarkable place on the International Sports map. He said that he would be always in readiness to render all possible assistance for conducting such games and activities in the district for all enthusiastic talented students.
Among others, General Secretary J&K Softball Association Mr. C. L. Bhat, a large number of Sports lovers and teachers were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Principal National Institute of Teaching and Learning High School declared the district championship open and Volleyball coach Mr. Bushan Sethi inaugurated the championship after ceremonial parade of participants.
Later, District Vice President Softball Association presented vote of thanks to all concerns particularly district administration and Information Department for their cooperation in making championship to end in grand success.
