PDP concerned over condition of Batote-Kishtwar highway | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar, June 13: Peoples Democratic Party has expressed serious concern over the dilapidated condition of the Batote-Kishtwar highway, which accordingly to it has become a threat to the innocent lives. In a statement, issued here today, District President PDP Youth Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza came down heavily upon the state government for its alleged negligence to safeguard the lives of innocent people in far flung areas. He said that the Kishtwar-Batote highway has come accident prone at many palces especially at Fagomarh, Pul Doda and Baggar. “The government in hush hush manner opened the highway for vehicular movement at Baggar following cloudburst incident but the road is at the verge of collapse”, Waza said. He claimed that the road stretch between Thatri and Kishtwar is in shambles but the BECON was extending the dates of its completion. Wazar further added that various developmental works, initiated by the previous government headed by Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, have come to stand still during the present government for some unknown reasons. The people in the far flung areas, he said, were living at the mercy of God and the government and its officials at the helm of affairs have turned a blind eye towards the plights of general masses.
