Khajuria visits Gali Khilonia, takes stock of problems faced by locals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 13: Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria alsongwith District Vice-President Karan Singh and BJP Freedom Fighters Cell Convenor Dalip Gupta, visited Gali Khilonia in W.No. 10 to take stock of the problems being faced by the local residents in view of the drain water flowing in the premises of Mata Sheetla Mandir. The MLA was told that the Mandir is centuries old and there was very less population around it. With the increase in population, there has been construction of more drains for flow of waste water. The pipe carrying this water was laid when the temple was constructed. It has become old and even leaking. The dirty water gets leaked and enters the temple also. They asked the MLA to kindly take the matter seriously and ensure that some alternate is found so that the sanctity of the religious place remains intact. Ashok Khajuria gave a very patient hearing and said that the problems is very genuine. He said that although it is a complex matter but still he will take up it with the concerned department to find a viable solution which satisfies the local residents as well as the devotees visiting the temple. A deputation of local shopkeepers association, led by Shashi Sapolia, also met the visiting MLA and demanded that the number of benches fixed in the Pacca Danga park be increased as hundreds of people use it daily. Although there are benches but the number is not enough. It was assured by the MLA that their demand will be fulfilled at the earliest. Sanjay Jain, Jeet Singh, Sanjay Anand, Dharam Pal, Ramesh Nagar were prominent among those who met the MLA and putforth this demand.
