| Good roads imperative for boosting economic activity: Charak | | |
Jammu, Nov 23
Emphasizing that the importance of upgrading of rural roads, Minister for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Chark has said that under Bharat Nirman Progeamme all roads would be taken in phased manner under this scheme for upgradation and construction to connect rural areas with towns and cities.
Minister was addressing a public meeting at village Sohwara Bishna here today.
Mr. Charak said that under Bharat Nirman and other centre and state schemes all roads would be constructed in all three regions of the state. He said a massive development a programme has been launched in the state to upgrade infrastructure base to realized the dream of “Khushal Jammu and Kashmir”. The aim of introduction of double shift system in construction Project is to complete them in a prescribed time frame to save the state exchequer from over burden due to escalation of cost and help speedy completion of works.
Taking cognizance of demands putforth by people of the area, Minister directed concerned officers to make a project report of all link roads of the block immediately so that work on these roads would be started at the earliest. He assured that all dilapidated roads would be upgraded in phased manner. Regarding the opening of new primary school, he said he will take up this matter with concern department for early redressal.
Mr. Charak asked the people to corporate with administration in implementing government policies and programmes on ground. |
