Provide proper facilities for good annual results: lecturers

Jammu, June 14: All Jammu and Kashmir Plus 2 Lecturers Forum has said that acute shortage of staff and infrastructure are the main reasons for low pass percentage in the government institutions.
Addressing a meeting of the members at Surankote, president of the forum H.D Qureshi said that government should provide better infrastructure in the educational institutions, if they want good annual results in board examinations.
Day long session was organised by Syed Imtiaz Kazmi, forum district president Poonch and presided over by Nagesh Arya, HoD DIET.
Qureshi said that efforts have been intensified by the forum to achieve its goals so that discrimination meted to the lecturers could end. He also appreciated the efforts of Director School Education, G.A Qureshi for taking up various measures for the upliftmnet of the education standard in the region.

The delegates from all across the district participated in the interactive session and discussed various issues confronting them. They raised the issue of delay in the regularization of incharge lecturers, principals and other officers. Members expressed concern over the deliberate delay in the implementation the decision of the Cabinet dated March 29-2010 for regularization of the adhoc lecturers.
The house discussed wide ranging issues confronting the cadre that include the worst type of stagnation in absence of running pattern, despite announcement of Chief Minister to streamline the process. Issue of transfers was also discussed during the meet.
Speaking on the occasion, district president, Syed Imtiaz Kazmi highlighted various achievements of the forum which is fighting for the cause of the lecturers. He demanded opening of evaluation centre in the district, besides better promotion avenues for the teachers.
District president Rajouri, Rauf Dar in his address elaborated the efforts of the forum for the upliftment of cadre and also discussed the barriers coming in the way of the education development in the region.
