What were agencies doing when militant cast vote in Morha: Mir | Defeated Sarpanch hold Press Conference allege mass bungling in Panchayat elections | | Amit Sharma EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri, June 14 Putting question mark on the work of intelligence agencies in Rajouri, a defeated Sarpanch candidate and Peoples Democratic Party leader Choudhary Mir Hussain has said that a militant has cast vote in his Panchayat and agencies have still not investigated weather the militant has himself cat vote or somebody has cast proxy vote. He said if it is proxy vote, the voter must be exposed. Addressing Press Conference in Rajouri after ET-Poll Khol series, Choudhary Mir Hussain defeated Sarpanch candidate of Morha A Panchayat of Budhal has said that a militant is casting vote in Budhal and agencies have still not investigated on the issue. He said that if militant cast vote than it is 100 percet failure of agencies and if it is proxy vote, where is the proxy voter. “The voter must be exposed before people”, he said. Alleging mass bungling in the Panchayat during election, Mir Hussain said that they had full faith on the democratic system but the Panchayat election has turned big fraud with all sides complaints of bungling on part of officials and candidates. He said that he is very much sure that money played vital role in defeating and electing a members and in his Panchayat Morha, this factor works very well. He alleged large scale bungling in the Panchayat Halqa Morha A where atleast 120 votes have been illegally polled on the polling day. He said that after the polling, they came to know that such votes have been polled following they have approached Appellate Court chanelnging the election. He said that he has provided all proofs to the election authorities. He said that in his panchayat a militant’s vote has been cast who is absconding in police record. “ I have also given list of 22 voters of my panchayat who cast double votes in Ward number 1, 2, 3 & 5 as there names exist on two voter lists”, he said adding 11 votes of Morha B Ward 1, 2 & 3 have been cast in Morha A which is an illegal practice. Mir Hussain said that not only this 8 votes of Kotranka Ward number 8 have been cast in Morha A and 2 votes of Lurkoti ward number 3 were also cast in the Morha A. He added that 2 votes of Jaglnnoo ward number 2, 7 votes of Draj ward number 5, 3 votes of Sunderbani ward number 1 and 2 votes of Jammu Municipal Corporation Ward number 28 were also cast in Morha A panchayat. Challenging the election, he said that how 6 dead persons cast votes in his Panchayat and how voter list was tempered and 15 votes added on the day of election. Choudhary said that he want that the election should be cancelled and re-polling should be held in the Panchayat. “I have also approached in written to Chief Electoral Officer J&K BR Sharma to investigate the mater besides approaching Appellate Court”, he said adding that he has also demanded action against the officials who were involved in managing two votes in two voter lists of a same person which is clear violation of J&K Peoples Representation Act and Panchayati Raj Act. “I demand that an FIR be lodged against the officials who have done this blunder so that a blot on democracy may be washed”.
