All J&K Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association held meet | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 14: A meeting of All J&K Non Gazetted Forest Officers Association held at Forest Complex Dogra Hall, Jammu under the chairmanship of S Jaswant Singh, Provisional President of Jammu Province in which they discussed various issues including the brutal attack by the local people of Tehsil Batote on DFO, damaging of the Batote office, damaging the government vehicle of the Department worth lacs of Rupees. The attackers damaged the government property in broad day light violating the rules due to killing of a child by the wild animal roaming in the area. It is worthwhile to mention here that some employees of the Forest Department had been killed by the wild animals when the staff was on government duty and even the benefit of SRO-43 have not been given to the beneficiaries of deceased employees. The killing of a child in Batote area is not the grave fault of the Forest administration. Such type of episodes will disturb the smooth functioning of the field staff of the Forest Department who has performed the duties at the risk of the lives. In the meeting they discussed that the episode of the locals who caused damage to the government property worth lacs of rupees is a violation of rules and a criminal activity the participants strongly demanded stem action against the accused persons and booked them under the law. In the meeting Jaswant Singh, Ravi Kumar, Amardeep Singh, R D Singh, Rajesh Bakshi, S. Gurcharan Singh, Varinder Singh, Yash Pal, Sanjeev Verma and others were present. |
