| Do not talk to me through newspapers: Omar to Delhi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 14: The Chief Minister lashed out at New Delhi today over a newspaper report urging him to transfer power to panchayats.
Responding to the report, Omar posted Twitter: "When will 'Delhi' learn not to talk to me via newspapers." He also posted the link of the story that appeared in the newspaper. The report quoting sources says that the Chief Minister has been advised to empower panchayats in the state. Pertinent to mention Omar disclosed a few days ago that some elements within the system were trying to delay transfer of power to the panchayats.
The panchayat elections were concluded yesterday in the state. |
