Villagers praise working of Majalta tehsil office | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: Residents of Majalta in Udhampur have praised the working of Majalta tehsil office, terming the allegations of "corruption" against its employees as "baseless". They said the tehsil staff, including tehsildar Sapna Kotwal, had cooperated with them and solved their problems whenever they had approached them. In a statement issued here today, the residents, including Rajinder Singh, Surinder Sharma and Updesh, said they had no complaints to make against the employees as they had never harassed them. They also praised them for not succumbing to the pressure of some people who wanted them to do some illegal works.Only these disgruntled elements had levelled baseless allegations against the tehsil staff, they added. They, however, urged the tehsildar to conduct a weekly or fortnightly durbar to listen to their grievances.A senior officer in Udhampur district administration also expressed satisfaction over the working of the tehsil office.
