| PA to DC Kishtwar roughed up by SPO, kept in illegal confinement | | CJM directs SHO to register FIR | | Asif Iqbal Naik
KISHTWAR, June 15: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kishtwar today directed SHO Police Station Kishtwar under section 156 (3) Cr.P.C to register an FIR against Special Police Officer (SPO) Ranjeet Kumar under section 325/341/353/382/506/149 read with section 120B of RPC for allegedly beating up Rajesh Kumar Thakur, Personal Assistant to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, beside keeping him in illegal Confinement at old DPL Complex Kuleed Kishtwar.
The CJM vide his order no 284/CJM Dated 15-06-2001 further directed the SHO Kishtwar to conduct the medical examination of Rajesh Kumar and submit the compliance/Investigation report before the court.
According to the complaint filed by Rajesh Kumar Thakur, Who himself is a first class Magistrate through his council advocate Sandeep Sen alleged that the accused Ranjeet Kumar on 12-6-2011 stopped his vehicle near DPL Kishtwar, while he was returning from home. He said that on disclosing his identification as first class Magistrate to SPO Ranjeet Kumar, he turned violent and not only misbehaved, but also abused him. Subsequently that matter was brought into the notice of higher ups of police authorities through Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.The complainant court stated that despite approaching the senior police officers, no action has been initiated against the accused.
He said that while on 14-06-2011, the applicant was returning home after visiting a relative at Zelna Kishtwar at 7.30 PM, the accused stopped his vehicle and pulled him out of his vehicle with the help of other accused and started beating him.
The accused along with his associates then forcefully took away the keys of the vehicle and decamped with his mobile phone, Tata Photon and a gold chain worth Rs. 50,000. The accused also took the applicant inside old DPL Complex at Kuleed and kept him in illegal confinement, but was saved by some passerby.
It is worth mentioning here that some goons attacked the former SDM a few days ago. In similar case a student of 10th class of Sir Iqbal Academy Amir Hussain Naqeeb was attacked by group of youths with sharp edge weapons, while he was return after attending tuition class. Only one accused Ajay Rathore has been arrested so far, where as the other accused were still at large. |
