Kamat visits BSF hqrs at Paloura, interacts with jawans | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: Union minister of state for Home, communications and information technology, Gurudas Kamat today visited BSF headquarters at Paloura and interacted with jawans and officers. Earlier, he paid his obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in Trikuta Hills of Katra and also visited the famous Raghunathji temple here. During his brief stay at the BSF Paloura campus, he interacted with jawans and senior officers on various issues related to border management and recent developments on the International Border. He also reviewed security arrangements made by BSF in view of latest developments on the western borders. Kamat praised BSF for its efforts in bringing peace and tranquility to the Jammu region. He also informed that the central government was well aware of the problems faced by BSF and announced that it would leave no stone unturned to address their pending issues, according to a BSF spokesman. S Chattopadhyaya, IG BSF, Jammu frontier, briefed the minister about the prevailing situation on the border, deployment of BSF for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath ji yatra and general security scenario on the Jammu International Border and hinterland. He also thanked the government for sanctioning 135 ft composite bund for Jammu IB which would go a long way in providing sense of security to the border population and would also help the farmers residing close to the IB to reclaim their cultivated land which would bring all round prosperity to the border population. |
