| Shiv Sena criticizes BAYN’s stand on Amaranth yatra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 16:
Shiv Sena (Bal Thakeray) has reprimanded Baba Amarnath Yatra Niyas
(BAYN) for reaching an agreement with Shri Amarnath Shrine Board
(SASB) and performing Pratham Poojan of Amarnath yatra at Panjtarni.
Addressing a press conference here today, Shiv Sena (Thakeray) state
president Ashok Gupta said that Niyas should clarify as to why the
tradition of Pratham Poojan at Holy Cave shrine was not followed and
instead performed at Panjtarni.
He asked that why leaders of Niyas disowned their own men including Dr.
Gautam Mengi and in which capacity Dr Mengi was again involved in
discussion at Jammu with Board in guest house and why Nayas leadership
was not ready to see spot position?
Ashok Gupta pledged that in future Dharmik Yatra Samiti will not allow
any body to play with the sentiments of Jammu.
He said Jammu has already suffered a lot due to the role of Leela
Karan Sharma, who fought the election under banner of BJP.
BJP has already befooled Jammu in cross voting. Now, Niyas’ stand has
proved that self style leaders cannot understand the sentiments of
Jammuites, he added
