| DIG Jammu-Kathua visits shooting camp at DPS, Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 16: DIG Jammu-Kathua range Farooq Khan paid a visit to the ten day long ongoing shooting camp at DPS, Jammu. Khan was very much impressed to see the performance of the shooters who had shown keen interest in the activity. Khan was informed that Coaching is being imparted by two experts from J&K Police and one trained coach from DPS Jammu to 45 shooters both boys and girls drawn from different schools of Jammu province who have registered themselves to undergo Air Pistol and Air Rifle Shooting Training. They will be given coaching in .177 Air Pistol and Air Rifle. These budding shooters will be trained in basic skills, stance, grip and other skills to handle the weapon, besides imparting the concept of handling/shooting the pistol. Skilled shooters will be given advance coaching for their onward selection to represent J&K State in All India Kumar Surendera Inter School shooting championship to be held in July 2011. Speaking on the occasion, DIG Khan range lauded the role of School Management who took a lead among the educational institutions of J&K State to organize a Shooting Camp/Inter School Competition in the premises of DPS Jammu in collaboration with J&K State Rifle Association. Khan also blessed the students for their bright future, in presence of school staff and students. S. S. Sodhi Director DPS Jammu also conveyed his thanks to DIG Farooq Khan for paying a visit to the school, in order to guide and bless the students. Sodhi also thanked Director General Police for extending co-operation and support whenever required from time to time.
