JKTDC realizes all time high revenue of Rs 26.59 cr | 28th AGM of JKTDC shareholders held | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JUNE 17: In order to approve the audited balance sheet for the financial years of 1996-97 and 1997-98 of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation an Annual General meeting of share- holders was held under the Chairmanship of Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora here today. Managing Director JKTDC Satish Nehru placed before share holders the audited balance sheet of the Corporation for the year 1996-97 and 1997-98 and discussed in detail along with comments of Principal Accountant General (Audit) during the meeting. It was revealed that during 1996-97 revenue of Rs 7.2 crore was registered by the Corporation against which an expenditure of Rs 8.11 crore was incurred with a net loss of Rs 91 lakh during the year. However, during 1997-98 the Corporation earned revenue of Rs 10.27 crore and recorded an expenditure of Rs 10.11 crore resulting in net profit of Rs 8.15 lakh. Later, the committee adopted the balance sheet for the financial years 1996-97 and 1997-98. The Minister underscored the need for making Corporation more vibrant and commercial and directed the concerned authorities to provide best possible services to the customers. It was informed in the meeting that revenue of the Corporation has been increased from Rs 19.62 crore in 2008-09 to Rs 26.59 crore in 2010-11. Managing Director assured shareholders that given peaceful situation in the State the Corporation will leave no stone unturned to generate more revenue, besides providing better facilities customers. Commissioner Secretary Finance Sudhanshu Panday among others attended the meeting.
