| USTA to launch chain hunger strike | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 17: Amidst breach of agreement between J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) Kathua and Chief Education Officer Kathua regarding modification in recent transfers of masters, USTA decided to launch chain hunger strike from June 20, 2010 in front of CEO Kathua’s office.
Addressing teachers Provincial President Sh. Hari Singh criticized the Chief Education Officer Kathua for issuing notice to the Masters for not joining their new place of postings in far flung areas. He expressed grave concerned over the unjust and norm less transfers of masters made by CEO Kathua by adopting pick and choose policy.
Taking strong exception of the dilly dally-tactics of CEO Kathua, he stated that responsibility of decisive struggle being launched by USTA from Monday shall lie exclusively on CEO office.
Those present include Banarsi Dass, Tersem Raj, Varinder Sharma, Shashi Paul, Sukhdev Singh, Ganesh Dutt, Kishori lal, Sudesh Kumari, Dewasi Lal, Ram Pyari, Bimla Jamwal etc.
