| Lecturer’s Forum discuss overall scenario of Education | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 17: A delegation of All J&K plus 2 Lecturer’s Forum led by its president H.D Qureshi met Director School Education Jammu G.A Qureshi in his office chamber here today.
The delegation comprising Charan Dass and Manmmet Bali both vice presidents, N.S Jawmal general secretary, Ashwani Sharma chief organiser, B.D Sharma district president Jammu besides Qureshi discussed at length the overall scenario within the Department with special focus on the reformative steps taken by the Director to further strengthen and streamlining the Department.
The delegation highly appreciated the efforts of Director School Education for devising a new mechanism in the Department with the teachers’ empowerment by involving the lecturers and principals in the governing arrangement and policy decisions to achieve the goal of quality Education and “Academic Excellence”.
The delegation discussed the issue of low pass percentage in the Government Institutions and apprised the Director its causes and also suggested the remedial measures to improve the quality in the standards of Education.
The delegation appealed the Director Education for a review on the decision for release of Annual Increments in favour of Teachers having 30% results at their credit keeping in view the acute shortage of staff especially subject experts and other infrastructures in the Institutions.
The delegation also discussed the issues of transfers with the Director and suggested for need based fixed tenure and rotational transfer approach to ensure justice to every individual.
The delegation also extended all type of support and cooperation in the implementation of decision of Directors to re-juvenate the system of Education particularly for devising the new mechanism to achieve the goal of “Academic Excellence”
B D Sharma chief spokes person released the details of meeting to the Press. The non- release of salary grants in favour of Lecturers working in the Institution up-graded through Internal arrangements was discussed in the meeting and the Forum strongly advocated for timely release of salary grants and also creation of posts in such Institution.
G. A Qureshi after a comprehensive discussion assured the delegation to address all issues raised for betterment in the field of Education.
