It will be conducted in 35 centres, specially set up for the examination which includes 19 in Jammu and 16 in Srinagar. This year more than 21,000 candidates are going to sit in the exam. Aspirants after completing 10+2 in Science stream take JKCET for securing seats in different streams of various Medical and Engineering Colleges (government as well as private) of the state. It is pertinent to mention here that last year many impersonation cases were held. But this year the education department has improved themselves and many possible things have been done to stop this kind of incidents. This year a special cell has been constituted by the crime branch to monitor the students so that any cheating case is detected and action is taken against them. The BOPEE had put the new rules like the colored photo system where they can identify the students clearly to stop the imitation. At the end of the examination the students are provided with the carbon copy of the answer sheet. Sources said that this year, BOPEE has decided to upload the answers in the website on June 26 for the students to know about their performance in the entrance test. When contacted Chairman BOPEE, Mushtaq Ahmed Pir said that they have introduced every possible step to have fair exam. He added that this time they are providing three days to the students for any discrepancy towards uploaded answer key or any other matter and the result will be declared soon after three days.
