President Cup: Secretary XI makes 105 for 3 to chase 294 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 17: Chasing a target of 294 runs set by Chairman XI, the Secretary XI were well placed at 105 for three at the end of day-one play of the two-day tie in the President Cup, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College ground, here today. Powered by brilliant innings of 81 (off 99 balls, 9x4, 2x6) from Raman Dutta and two half centuries by Aditya Partap and Deepak Manhas, Chairman XI set a challenging target of 294 runs for nine in 68.4 overs. One of the batsman retired hurt. Aditya Partap and Deepak Manhas contributed 59 and 57 runs respectively. Munish Dogra also contributed valuable 32 runs to the total. From Secretary XI, Dilbag Singh was most successful bowler with five for 75 in 21 overs. Arshed Sheikh and Somya Jain claimed two wickets each. Later, Secretary XI made a confident start bringing the total to 105 for three in 21 overs when day’s play ended. Shashi Kumar and Dhruv Mahajan were at the crease with 44 and 25 runs in their respective accounts. Pranav Mahajan was highest run getter among the outgoing batsmen with 20 runs in his account. Raman Dutta and Dilawar Singh bagged two and one wicket respectively. This match is being officiated by Salim-ul-Rehman and Amit Gupta while Ragav Verma is scorer.
