Nowshera people facing hardships due to transformer breakdown: Radhay Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 17: Senior National Conference leader and MLA Nowshera Radhay Sham Sharma today said that general public of his constituency and Kalakote is facing great hardships due to the recent sudden accidental burning of 20 MVA Transformer at 132/33 KV Grid Station Kalakote. In a press statement issued here today, MLA Sharma said that the burning of transformer has totally disrupted electric supply to the Tehsils of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote which also affected drinking water supplies to a greater extent. He further said that he has discussed this matter in details with Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Chairman District Development Board, Rajouri and Minister for Industries S.S. Slathia, Commissioner/Secretary Power Development Department, Basharat Ahmed Dhar, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, G.A. Khawaja and concerned officers of PDD Department and demanded the early installation of 50 MVA Transformer at Kalakote instead of 20 MVA Transformer to permanently solve this problem. Sharma also urged upon Taj Mohi-ud-din, Minister, P.H.E, Irrigation and Flood Control Department to direct District Officers of his department to arrange regular clean drinking water supply to the people of his constituency by pressing adequate number of water tankers service to avert acute drinking water shortage in Nowsherea constituency till situation eases.
