Panthers Chief calls on President Patil Seeks intervention on reorganization, JCU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 17: Prof Bhim Singh Chairman of National Panthers Party and Member NIC called the President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Path this afternoon and submitted a memorandum seeking her urgent intervention fore the reorganization of J&K. He submitted that the parliament has abdicated all its legislative authority vis-a-vis J&K and vested the President to make laws in respect of J&K under Art 370 of the Indian Constitution. He urged the President to promulgate ordinance to reorganize the State on the basis old cultural, historical and geographical identity of each region so that the half a century old conflict and mistrust may disappear for the good of all which is the only way to address the issues like autonomy, self rule, azadi or art 370. Prof Bhim Singh also sought intervention of the President over the delay in establishment of Central University, Jammu. He said being the Visitor of the Jammu Central University, President must intervene for the appointment of a local Vice Chancellor to save the dignity of Dogras and the institution.
